Old fuse boards are a safety risk and can prevent you selling your home. We replace them with modern consumer units — certified, safe, and compliant.
If your home has an old fuse board with rewirable fuses or an older consumer unit, it may not meet current UK electrical safety standards. Modern consumer units with RCD protection offer significantly better protection against electric shock and electrical fires.
Signs you need an upgrade: your fuses keep blowing, you're adding new circuits (EV charger, hot tub, new kitchen), your electrician or surveyor has flagged it, or you're trying to sell your home and it's been flagged on the survey.

How long does a consumer unit upgrade take?
Most homes take 4–6 hours. You'll be without power for this period, usually from around 8am, and back on by early afternoon.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. Every consumer unit upgrade comes with an Electrical Installation Certificate, which you keep for your records and any future property sale.
Will I need to redecorate?
No. The board is replaced in the same location. We're tidy workers and leave no mess.
How much does it cost?
